On Saturday, January 25, we opened our doors to the talented Edmonton-based Jing Ying Martial Arts to perform a Lion Dance honouring the Lunar New Year. This was the second time these incredible performers were at the dealership and once again, they amazed our guests.

The 2020 Lunar New Year is the beginning of the Year of the Rat, which signifies an opportunity for both love and financial gain. Having the opportunity to host Jing Ying Martial Arts and celebrate with so many of our Chinese clients is something we treasure every year.

The lion dance was scheduled to begin at 11:00 but we were full of excited guests well before than. The talented dancers and musicians performed for a packed dealership, with dozens of our clients and their families looking on happily. We paired the performance with traditional Chinese appetizers and refreshments.

Lunar New Year

The Lunar New Year, also called Spring Festival by many, is the most important holiday in China and to many Chinese across the globe. It recognizes the end of long, cold days and embraces planting and harvest season, new beginnings and fresh starts.

The celebration was a huge success, enjoyed by all in attendance. We’re already looking forward to next year. Thank you to everyone who came and took part. We wish everyone prosperity and joy in 2020; the Year of the Rat!
